Students in education across sixth-form, college and university are at a unique point in their life - most of them are about to jump head-first into their first real taste of a full-time career. But taking the leap can be overwhelming and filled with uncertainty:

  • What kind of role should I go into?

  • What if I don’t get the job I want?

  • What if I find out it’s not something I enjoy?

These are just a few of the questions flying around young minds, alongside the other spinning plates of student life.

Working Together for Student Success

I work with students in Higher and Further education to create safe, non-judgemental spaces for students to talk openly about their futures, so they have the best chance of leading fulfilling careers, whatever their background.

I’ve had conversations with hundreds of students and one of the things I’ve learned is that they truly have amazing potential - they just need the right inspiration around them to help them see it for themselves.

From Side-Hustle Dreams to Business Reality

In a recent report by the University of Reading, 34% of those aged 16-24 run a money-making enterprise alongside their studies. That trend is predicted to double over the next 10 years. This session is an interactive exploration of what it takes to set up a side-hustle, viable money-making ideas and the mindset required for success. I’ll also be sharing savvy, practical tools to help students on their way.

Social Media: Stand Out Without Burning Out

How do you keep your mental wellbeing in check whilst growing your presence on social media? Social media is most definitely here to stay and is an exciting and useful source of new information and advice. But it’s also one of the big reasons for poor mental health which can impact your creativity.

In this session, I’ll share my practical advice and 20+ years of experience educating students about how they can achieve control whilst engaging in the social space. Whether students are branding themselves ready for employment or growing their business, everyone will leave the session feeling empowered and equipped with tips and tools they can put into action straight away.

Presenting with Confidence

Starting a new job or business is a nerve-wracking time for most students. Gone are the structured timetables and lesson plans. Being ‘out there’ in the world can feel like students are starting from the bottom, with everyone above peering over and judging their every move. This session is an interactive exploration of confidence and how students can present themselves to employers and their peers in a way that makes them believe in their abilities.

Confidence and knowledge are a true powerhouse combination to success. I’ll share my advice and practical tips that students can call on at different stages of their journey, as their confidence grows.

Personal Branding 101: Fast-Track your Social Media Presence

What do you stand for and how do you communicate this? Personal branding is a hot topic and channelling who you are into your content is hugely important, especially when you are growing your own business. In this session, I’ll share insights into how students can use social media to market services/ products, as well as the value in building a community.

Hey, I’m Rubbi

I wholeheartedly believe in my motto that you control social media, not the other way round. I arrived at this belief after experiencing complete overwhelm by social media while working in my business.
